Le Grand Hotel Montenvers is impressive. It sits perched on the rocks overlooking the famous Mer de Glace, which attracts many thousands of people to Chamonix every year.

The Montenvers is all about rustic charm. Built in 1880 to lodge all those pioneering alpinists, you can still take a bed in a dorm or an individual room for the night, but the real highlight has to be eating here.
