From Geneva: Full-Day Trip to Chamonix and Mont-Blanc
427 ReviewsHop onto a bus from Geneva to discover the quaint, well-known Alpine skiing village of Chamonix.
Le Lapin Agile is a relaxed, low-key Italian bar/restaurant in the centre of Chamonix. The owners, Stefania and Gianluca, opened it in 2002 to realize their dream: ‘a small and simply place were you can have the best things to eat and the best wines to drink without the excesses of a luxury restaurant’. And they've certainly realised their dream!
Le Lapin Agile has a small menu with fresh salads and Italian dishes. Everything is made on the spot and is of great quality: Austrian speck to make your mouth water and real buffalo mozzarella in your salad.
Go here for an Italian coffee whilst using the free WiFi, enjoy lunch or dinner, afternoon tea or an aperitif. The Chamonixinfo team really recommends going for the ‘aperitivo’ at Le Lapin Agile. This Italian tradition offers a buffet of tapas, crisps and salads for free with your drink between 6.30 and 9pm.
It seems like the wine is the most important element for the owners, who have selected the wine list themselves. You can find wine here from small, hard-to-find wineries from all over the world, from France and Italy to India and Mexico!
The decor here is authentic, warm and charming with paraphernalia on the wall. There is also an upstairs area where you can sit and watch Mafalda the dog sleep. A true gem of a place in Chamonix!
