From Geneva: Full-Day Trip to Chamonix and Mont-Blanc
427 ReviewsHop onto a bus from Geneva to discover the quaint, well-known Alpine skiing village of Chamonix.
As soon as you step out of the cable car at Lognan, you walk out onto the snow front and see the large, modern building that houses the Cafe Spot on the lower level and the Rider Cafe on the first floor.
Cafe Spot is a simple take away cafe and bar, serving such delights as bagels, hamburgers, hot dogs and the usual range of hot and cold drinks. You can either eat inside or head outside to capture a few rays whilst you eat.
Upstairs there's an enormous terrace to seat 240 people and refreshments from the Rider Cafe. A new concept for the 2011 winter season, the theme is Italian. This means buffet self service antipasti and cured meats, followed by a menu of pizza, pasta and grill of the day. All this is finished off with some classic Italian desserts such as tiramisu and panna cotta.
The tables and chairs are a little reminiscent of a school canteen, but there is also a lounge area with plastic sofas and stools to 'relax' on.
